January-February: See Yaz Cowan's assemblage and collage pieces in a group exhibition at the Glassell School of Art, the teaching wing of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. On exhibit now at 5101 Montrose. Building hours are Monday-Friday 9 am - 10 pm and Saturday-Sunday 9 am - 7 pm.

February 24-August 13, 2006: See Yaz Cowan's jewelry inspired by The Royal Tombs of Ur: Ancient Treasures from Modern Iraq exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Collectors Gift Shop.

Sunday, April 4 - Friday, April 9: Special trunk show at the International Association for Aquatic Animal Medicine's 35th Annual Conference. San Louis Hotel, Galveston, Texas. Nature-related Hilltribe Silver jewelry will be sold at the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network's booth.

June 18-19: Special trunk show with ArtFlash Studio at the Texas State Democratic Convention. George R Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas.

SEPTEMBER

September 9-October 1: Yaz Cowan's "La Jolla Revisited" digital art will be on display at the "Snap to Grid" exhibit at LACDA--the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. 5723 Melrose, Suite 202, Los Angeles, California, 90038.

OCTOBER 

October 1: "Opening Doors" event, Fall Creek's Redstone Golf Club, Humble, Texas. Twelve "Art Doors", one by jewelry designer Yaz Cowan, will be auctioned at the “Opening Doors” preview party at Redstone Golf Club in Fall Creek, Friday, October 1. The cocktail buffet kicks off at 6 p.m. with live music by the David Caceres Trio; the live auction begins at 8 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Door, FamilyTime Foundation’s Humble, Texas, shelter for battered women and their children.

Following the October 1 “Opening Doors” event, the artistic creations will be displayed in Fall Creek through the end of October, at which time the winning bidders will claim their doors.

Tickets are $50 per person for the “Opening Doors” preview party. Harris County Commissioner Jerry Eversole is the honorary chairman of the event. For tickets and information, call 281.458.8000 or visit online.
